About Larissa
Larissa is a missionary to Thailand and Burma with Life Impact International whose focus is to prevent the exploitation of children who are at risk of being sold into “child trafficking”, rescue those who have already been sold into slavery, and bring healing and restoration through family style safe homes. Larissa serves as the Children’s Safe Home Coordinator.
Larissa’s Role
Child Development
Because their children are rescued from such extreme situations, most of them are behind in physical development, have emotional trauma, and no education. Larissa leads her team in creating and developing plans, ideas, and projects that directly relate to the development (spirit, soul and body) of the children in all the homes.
Spiritual Growth & Development
Larissa leads the native staff in developing and training the children in the area of spiritual growth. This includes doing devotions and regular teachings at the homes; creating curriculum; and hands-on training with the staff in how to lead devotions that are age-appropriate and effective for the children – kind of like a children’s pastor!
Child Outreach Coordinator
All year round Life Impact has outreaches throughout the community in the areas that have extreme poverty, and are the major hubs for trafficking – and most of the outreaches are led by the youth! Larissa leads the outreach team in discipling the youth in effective outreach training, and setting up programs for each outreach. The youth have seen over 5,000 people come to the Lord!
Oversees Native Staff
Larissa trains the native staff who serve as adoptive parents to the rescued children. This includes: Parenting training classes, coordinating schedules and job responsibilities, and working together to help the children feel secure, safe, and loved in their new families!
